Charles “Chicky” Reeves

Charles “Chicky” Reeves, is the owner and CVO (Chief Visionary Officer) of Sublime Studios.  The studio is a culmination of his talents and extensive experience—as producer and recording, mixing and mastering engineer—at the forefront of the New York City and Austin, Texas music scenes

Chief Engineer of Manhattan Center Studios in NYC, (aka, the home of Timbaland), Chicky mixed such legendary greats as Ray Charles, Tito Puente, Johnny Cash, and Radiohead—as well as MTV’s Live at the Ten Spot, VH1 Storytellers, Boyz II Men, D-Lite, 247Spys, and the like.  At the same time, Chicky ran his own thriving recording studio out of the famous Hotel New Yorker.  His beats and style were highest in demand with emerging hip-hop artists.

In 2004, Chicky fell in love with London and brought his New-York-schooled-style overseas.  He continues to collaborate with artists in the studio as well as mixing front of house for Grace Jones, Robert Logan, BEF (formerly Heaven 17), OneTwo (of OMD) and the Icelandic band Trabant.

Chicky’s roots are in NY hip-hop and R & B.  (Check out the mind-blowing tracks of his alter ego, Edmund Squeeze!)  But you’ll also be amazed by his versatility when you hear the haunting ambient tunes of The Aklamate.  Both creative visionary and exacting technician, Chicky will make your music sound sublime.
